Office Movers on How to Prepare Employees for Relocation

Corporate and office relocations are nothing new. In fact they are a necessity for growing businesses. With heightened sales, bigger demands and the need for more people, companies will sure have the need to move to a bigger space that will be beneficial for it in the long run. But as business owners and entrepreneurs, one has to remember that it is not only your assets, furniture and equipment that’s going to make the move with you. You have your employees too. Of course you would not want to lose your lovely team with their brains, skills and passion for the organization. You have to help them too. The relocation process is not easy. Everyone has to work hand in hand. So how do you prepare them right? Below are tips from office movers on how to prepare your employees for your relocation.

INFORM THEM EARLY – It is necessary that you schedule the entire process and you start as early as possible, a year ahead being the least. This is to ensure that there is enough leeway in case of unprecedented events. With this comes the need to inform the concerned and affected employees depending if the whole entity moves or only part of it.

TEACH THEM SOME TRICKS – It is also important to give them some tips and tricks in packing their stuff. True enough they have some personal belongings with them alongside their files and stacks of documents related to their work. Ask your movers to hold a seminar with your staff to help them do packing right.

GIVE THEM THE RIGHT SUPPLIES – Of course not everything will be taken cared for by the removal company such as your employee’s picture frames atop their office desks. They will do some packing on their own too and with that comes the need to provide for them the right packing supplies such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etcetera.

ALLOT ENOUGH TIME – As mentioned earlier start early because you do not want people to get caught off guard. Preparation, planning and timing are essential for easy breezy office relocation. Remember that companies on the move are businesses on hiatus. You do not want to prolong operations so be sure to a lot time for your employees to perform what they have to.

SET SOME GROUND RULES – As is customary be sure to set out some ground rules according to office movers. Release a formal memorandum as to when the scheduled date of relocation is, what are to be done and all the other details. This ensures that announcements are documented and in the event that any employee deviates, sanctions will be validly applicable.
